Iowa Support Master needs the extra width of landscape mode for its data-entry forms.
Rotate your phone to landscape to continue.
This professional legal tool has complex data-entry forms that need a wider screen than this device — even sideways.
Please use a larger phone in landscape, a tablet, or a computer.
Short version: your client's information never leaves your computer. Iowa Support Master runs entirely inside your web browser. The incomes, the parties, the children, and every financial detail you type are processed right here on your own machine.
Nothing is uploaded to us. Every calculation, every Guidelines worksheet, and the Financial Affidavit are assembled inside your browser — not on our server. Your case data is never sent to us, and it is never stored or logged on our server.
A built-in safeguard enforces this. Before any other code runs, the program installs a privacy “egress guard” that stops the browser from sending information anywhere, with only two harmless exceptions: a quick license check and a “is a newer version available?” check. Neither one carries any case data, and every other attempt to send data is automatically refused.
For your IT department. You don't have to take our word for it. Open the browser's Developer Tools, switch to the Network tab, and run a full calculation: the only requests are wismauth.cgi (license) and ism-version.json (version), and neither contains client data. The egress guard wraps the browser's three data-sending APIs — fetch, XMLHttpRequest, and sendBeacon — with a default-deny allowlist, so a third-party script cannot quietly send a case file anywhere. Blocked attempts are recorded in the browser console.
Your form has been restored to the auto-saved version shown above.
Your last saved .ism file on disk is unchanged and remains your fallback. If you prefer that version, use Open Case to reload it. Otherwise, review the restored data and use Save Case when ready.

The cost to cover the children is the difference between a Family Plan and Single Coverage. Enter the amount of each. If there are other adults and/or children covered by the Family Plan, also use the lower section.

Therefore only the taxable portion of earnings is entered in the "Wages" field. The amount of the pension contribution is entered in the non-taxed income field.
When entering pension contributions, two things ordinarily should happen: 1. Wage income is reduced by the amount paid to the mandatory pension. 2. Nontaxable income should reflect the pre-tax payment toward the mandatory pension.
Additionally, the percentage of IPERS changes in the middle of the tax year on July 1st, so you can decide the percentage to apply to earned income for the mandatory pension.
